Angela O'Connell

I am an Irish artist, originally from Waterville, on the breathtakingly beautiful Ring of Kerry, Ireland. I have lived in London for most of my life and work from my studio in Palmersgreen.

Painting is my passion and I am largely a self-taught artist and have attended art schools: the Art Academy, Central St Martins and the Prince's Trust Art School. I have a distinct style and produce one-off original paintings which are mainly done in oil. Should you purchase a painting from me, you are guaranteed a unique piece of artwork.

The excitement for me is in working on something completely different each time I produce a piece of work. I mainly produce very large oil paintings but can work to any size. I largely paint from imagination and produce contemporary, abstract and figurative work.

Occasionally I have produced paintings for customers who have invited me to their homes to view their surroundings, colour scheme, taste and style. Prior to commencing the work, I discussed my ideas with them and supplied the painting a few weeks later. Usually these commissions have been either contemporary or abstract artworks which are simple and pleasing to the eye. With today's minimal living and clear simple lines these are a popular choice. Underpinning these seemingly abstract marks and strong colours is a rock like foundation of drawing observation. Some of these paintings can be seen on this website.
